The Practice is registered with the Information Commissioner.

As your Optometrist, we record your personal details on our computer system to provide you the highest quality of healthcare.

Personal details would include, Name, Address, Contact Numbers, Email, Clinical records including images, details of your spectacle or contact lens prescription and what was supplied, details about health and medical treatment, medicines prescribed by your doctor, information relevant to your eyecare from other people who care for you and know you well such as relatives and other health professionals.

We know that you value your privacy and security of personal information held about you.

Your data is held in a secure computerised database, only accessed by our staff, who have passwords to maintain security.

All electronic data is protected by back ups and online back up that encrypts data securely before transmitting from practice PC.

Data never shared with any third party for commercial purposes ever.

Data will only be shared with your GP, Health Professionals or the Hospital Eye Service after your permission.

You have a right to inspect your data, any such request should be made using our contact details below. Personal data is checked at each practice visit to ensure it is up to date. Any inaccurate data is corrected promptly on request. There may be a charge to have a printed copy of the information held about you.

For legal and professional reasons, our professional body, College Of Optometrists, guides us to the length of time we retain your data.

Confidential paper information requiring destruction is shredded.

We publish and post out a Newsletter that is informative about Optical, Health and Practice matters. If you prefer an email version please let our team know and we can update your preference on your records.
