Forget impersonal eye appointments and one-size-fits-all approaches. At Vision Clinic, we take the time to understand you and your ocular needs. Our eye examinations last 30-45 minutes and include a thorough discussion about your ocular history and symptoms. We know that your time is valuable – if a prescription or referral is required, we will make sure that you are cared for promptly.
We don’t just check your vision, we also conduct in-depth external and internal examinations of each eye and will perform the following tests to ensure that your eyes are healthy:
- Eye pressure tests (don’t worry – we don’t use the uncomfortable air puff test!)
- Visual field tests
- OCT scans
- Digital retinal imaging (a digital image of the back of the eye that detects early signs of sight-threatening disease)
We can detect Glaucoma 2-3 years earlier
Using advanced technology, Vision Clinic is committed to detecting glaucoma as early as possible. Between 2015 and 2035, UK glaucoma cases are expected to increase by 44%. As one of the leading causes of preventable blindness, glaucoma initially produces no noticeable symptoms, making routine eye tests invaluable for early detection and intervention.
You no longer have to worry about intimidating machines or the dreaded “poof” sound that comes with some eye pressure tests. At Vision Clinic, we use a small handheld device to check if your eye pressure is at a healthy level. Our visual field tests will detect any gaps in your vision that could be caused by glaucoma. We will also use an innovative, non-invasive OCT scanner which assesses whether you are at risk and offers superior detection of the disease.
